Project Management Engineering Manager -Analytics House at DoiT

Lead and manage an engineering team, balancing hands-on technical contribution with people development, delivery planning, and architectural decision-making.

Lead Remote Posted about 9 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Location Our Engineering Manager - Analytics House will be an integral part of our global R&D team.

This role is based remotely in the East Coast US, the UK, Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden and Israel.

Who We Are

DoiT is a global technology company that works with cloud-driven organizations to leverage the cloud to drive business growth and innovation. We combine data, technology, and human expertise to ensure our customers operate in a well-architected and scalable state - from planning to production.

Delivering DoiT Cloud Intelligence, the only solution that integrates advanced technology with human intelligence, we help our customers solve complex multicloud problems and drive efficiency.

With decades of multicloud experience, we have specializations in Kubernetes, GenAI, CloudOps, and more. An award-winning strategic partner of AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, we work alongside more than 4,000 customers worldwide.

The Opportunity

The Engineering Manager is a hands-on, player-coach leadership role. You are embedded with your team - daily standup, code review, architectural calls, delivery planning, and performance management - and you own both the team’s output and the team’s growth.

This is a genuinely technical & leadership role. You are expected to write and review code, be a credible voice in architectural decisions, and stay current in your team’s stack. You lead by demonstrating you can do the work at the highest level, not by title alone.

The balance between hands-on contribution and leadership depends on the team’s context, but your overarching mandate is the same: run the team, execute and deliver, and grow its impact.

Build the bench, raise the standard, and keep the operating cadence sharp as the work and the organization evolve. You work AI-augmented yourself, expect the same from your team, and push the team’s craft forward with every new capability that lands.

Responsibilities Team leadership & growth

  • Leading a team of engineers, owning both its delivery and its development.
  • Lead a mindset and process of continuous improvement within the team and meaningfully impact the team’s growth and success over time. Small, compounding improvements, delivered via fast iterations, are the operating rhythm we expect, not an aspiration.
  • You are responsible for the professional well-being and career development of team members. Develop engineers through regular 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and direct, candid feedback.
  • Develop the next layer of leadership - tech leads, senior engineers ready to manage, and ICs ready to step into staff roles.

Technical leadership

  • Write code and review code. Be a credible voice in technical decisions because you have hands in the work, not because of your title - you are current, not rusty.
  • Drive the team’s architectural and technical design decisions in partnership with senior ICs, ensuring alignment on approach and implementation.
  • Uphold engineering standards through thorough, constructive pull-request review and a healthy release process, keeping the team’s components scalable and in a healthy state.
  • Work AI-augmented and lead an AI-augmented team, applying sharp judgment about where AI helps and holding the same quality bar for what ships.

Roadmap & delivery

  • Own the team’s commitments - what was promised, when it was promised, and the quality bar that was held.
  • Run a disciplined cadence of planning, prioritization, and delivery without becoming a process bureaucrat.
  • Partner closely with the Technical Product Owner and Product team on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs, maintaining a roadmap that reflects both near-term priorities and longer-term direction.
  • Understand the broader business objectives behind the work, translate that context for the team, and ensure engineering effort clearly aligns with those objectives.
  • React decisively to change - re-planning, re-prioritizing, and re-staffing as the business moves - while keeping the team engaged and steady through the shift.

Hiring

  • Own hiring for your team. Interview thoughtfully, decide quickly, and refuse to lower the bar to fill seats.
  • Recruit, coach, and - when needed - make hard calls toward the standard the team is held to.
  • Operate as a role model for other engineering managers across the organization: share your operating model, mentor peers, and raise the management bench.

Day-to-day communication & collaboration

  • Upwards: Communicate clearly and succinctly, giving leadership the right level of context and prioritizing escalations based on relevant, well-gathered information.
  • Downwards: Empower senior engineers to own key areas of the product, and coach team members to stay focused, intentional, and aware of their impact.
  • Sideways: Partner effectively with Product, Design, GTM, Customer Success, and other teams - raising challenges and opportunities constructively to support cross-team alignment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management roles where you actively coded as part of your responsibilities.
  • Hands-on, real-life experience building cloud-based SaaS products - running services in production o n AWS, GCP, or Azure, and owning availability, cost, and the customer-facing surface.
  • API first mindset, products are built not just for end user experience through UI, they are fully functional and available through APIs, so both humans and agents can interact with the platform
  • Strong background in databases, SQL, query optimization, and BigQuery.
  • A track record of taking an engineering team and visibly transforming it - measurable improvements in delivery velocity, technical quality, or team caliber.
  • Deep technical fluency in your team’s primary stack. You can read, write, and review code at a senior level, and you are current - not rusty.
  • Strong opinions on how high-performing engineering teams operate, and a clear philosophy on hiring, coaching, performance management, and technical decision-making.
  • Excellent judgment under pressure. You make calls quickly with imperfect information, communicate them clearly, and take responsibility for the outcomes.
  • Direct, candid communication. You give hard feedback well, and you hear it well.

Bonus Points

  • A strong, already-established AI-augmented workflow, with opinions on how to apply AI tools and agentic workflows to raise both velocity and quality.
  • Hands-on experience with more than a single cloud provider.
  • Background in scaling teams, processes, or technical systems as the organization grows.

Project Management Project Coordinator, Labor Futures at Data & Society Research Institute

Coordinates research project activities, communications, and logistics across teams, researchers, and community partners for a labor and AI research initiative.

Mid Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Organizational Summary

Data & Society is an independent nonprofit research organization studying the social implications of data-centric technologies and automation. We recognize that the same innovative technologies that may benefit society can also be abused to invade privacy, provide new tools of discrimination, foreclose opportunity, and harm individuals and communities. Through original research and inclusive engagement, we work to ensure that empirical evidence and respect for human dignity guide how technology is developed and governed.

About The Role

Data & Society is seeking a Project Coordinator, Labor Futures, who serves as the main point of contact between researchers, community partners, the Labor Futures team, and other Data & Society departments, ensuring clear communication and alignment across the Cross Sector Labor & AI Project. This role does not conduct research, produce research writing, or serve in a public‑facing communications capacity.

The Cross Sector Labor & AI project is a newly launched project that applies rigorous, qualitative empirical research to understand the impacts of AI on workers, support pro-worker policy interventions, and identify opportunities to build solidarity across labor, climate, immigrant rights, and other movements. We will conduct case studies across various sectors of work to identify common patterns in the narratives, financial incentives, and practices that can disempower workers and deepen structural inequities. Outcomes of this project will include case studies and policy documents, media engagement, community resources, public events, and other network-building activities. This project team will work in close collaboration with labor organizations, unions, and other community partners throughout the design, fieldwork, and public engagement phases of the project.

The Project Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and coordinating a wide range of activities for the Labor Futures team and assisting the Program Director with moving the project from planning to publication and dissemination.  The Project Coordinator coordinates and supports the team’s multi-faceted programming, provides day-to-day administrative, operational, and logistical project support, collaborates with other Data & Society departments, and maintains relationships with researchers and external partners.  The Project Coordinator works both independently and collaboratively with members of the research team and other key members of the organization.

This position will report to the Program Director, is fully remote, and will begin in October 2026 with an end date of June 30, 2028.

The Candidate

This role is ideal for someone with a background in project coordination or community engagement and who is highly organized, detail-oriented, operationally reliable, and motivated by an interest in economic justice, technology, and democratic practice. Although this position is not an academic research role, a background in the social sciences, humanities, and/or public scholarship is highly desirable.

The Project Coordinator brings a working familiarity with research environments, including common research practices, tools, and norms, and represents the project in logistical and coordination‑focused communications with internal teams and external stakeholders.

The Project Coordinator, Labor Futures reports to the Program Director, Labor Futures, and has no people management responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

Administrative and Project Coordination

  • Liaise with researchers and community partners to schedule and manage regular meetings and check-ins, ensuring all parties are informed and aligned on key project developments and touchpoints.
  • Work with the Program Director to keep researchers informed of project developments, ensure participation in relevant meetings, and support timely completion of deadlines and deliverables by coordinating regular check-ins and group meetings.
  • Support the Program Director in managing the established project budget by coordinating project‑related financial workflows in adherence with internal financial policies, including but not limited to those related to IRB, participant stipends, and approved work travel for researchers.
  • Oversee implementation of an established research budget, processing requests for funds as needed and appropriate (IRB, participation stipends, work-approved and related travel) for researchers.
  • Work with the Program Director and Senior Researcher to assist researchers with report development and publication, including adherence to mutual cross project report structure and timeline, assisting with obtaining needed resources, and connecting with other researchers in the field.
  • Maintain a bird’s eye view of the various moving parts of the project by meeting with researchers or community partners, as needed, synthesizing discussions into clear action items, and identifying potential conflicts, discrepancies, or synergies to elevate to the Program Director.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and logistical support to the Labor Futures team by overseeing the operational calendar, including scheduling meetings (including with individual researchers, team members and partners), preparing agendas and assembling pre-meeting materials, note taking, and maintaining and organizing shared file management systems.

Coordination across Teams and Researchers

  • Coordinate with the Communications, Strategy & Engagement, and Editorial teams to establish and ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Work closely with the HR and Finance teams to coordinate onboarding processes for Contract Researchers, ensuring required documentation and other logistical steps are completed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Finance team and Contract Researchers to support project‑related financial workflows by ensuring adherence to internal financial processes, including the timely submission of complete, accurate documentation required for payment processing by Finance.

Relationship Management and External Engagement

  • Maintain partner relationships by scheduling and preparing for meetings, fielding information requests from partners and researchers, and identifying potential issues to elevate to the Project Director in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate regular quarterly or monthly calls with partner organizations to support information sharing, project updates, and ongoing collaboration.
  • Communicate consistently with partner organizations to provide updates, event announcements and follow-up summary of notes.
  • Assist research team in maintaining a contact database of inquiries about the project from academia, civil society, and journalists.

Organizational Development

  • Contribute to the intellectual life of the organization as an active participant in internal programming: attendance at organization wide meetings, actively engage in talks, seminars or reading groups, and contributing to the development of research and engagement management practices.

What this role involves

About Wonderschool

Wonderschool is the operating system for child care in America. State governments and large enterprises partner with us to run child care licensing, subsidy programs, and provider and family search on our platform. We are growing fast, and every new state or enterprise win becomes a complex, high-stakes delivery engagement.

The Role

We need a Program Manager to run our state and enterprise engagements. You will own the delivery plan, the client relationship, and the coordination between our clients and our product and engineering teams, across every active project. This is a hands-on role. You will spend your time in project plans, client meetings, spreadsheets of acceptance criteria, and hard conversations about dates.

You are the person who makes sure what we promise to government and enterprise clients is what gets delivered, on time, on contract, with the paper trail to prove it.

Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery plan for each engagement across all workstreams. Track milestones, UAT cycles, and acceptance against each contracted statement of work.
  • Run the client cadence on every project: weekly status, steering meetings, escalations, and working sessions with agency program staff, legal, and state IT.
  • Keep dependency registers current. Clients owe us integration specs, test environments, credentials, data feeds, and business decisions on a schedule. Hold both sides to their dates and keep the paper trail that supports excusable-delay and change-order claims.
  • Manage scope: capability traceability, acceptance criteria negotiation, change requests, and intake of new work.
  • Produce deliverables for client review and keep Wonderschool leadership ahead of risks across the whole portfolio instead of behind them.
  • Work with engineering leads on integration timelines with state systems (ERP platforms, state data hubs, SSO). You will not own technical design, but you need to follow the conversation and know when a date is slipping.
  • Build the repeatable program playbook as we add states and enterprise clients.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management on complex software delivery. Government or regulated-industry clients strongly preferred.
  • You have managed contractual milestones, UAT-based acceptance, and formal change control, and you have the scars to show for it.
  • You write well. Status reports, meeting summaries, and acceptance criteria language will carry your name.
  • You can run a plan that depends on teams you do not manage, on both sides of the table.
  • Strongly preferred: experience with child care programs in state government (licensing, subsidy/CCAP, eligibility, or provider systems).
  • A plus: state human services or eligibility systems experience, or familiarity with state procurement.

Location and Compensation

  • Location: Remote. San Francisco preferred for in-person collaboration with the product and engineering team; open to remote candidates anywhere in the US.
  • Compensation: Market-rate base salary plus meaningful equity.
  • Benefits: Full package (health, dental, vision, 401k, flexible PTO).

Coordinates research project operations, communications, and logistics across teams, researchers, and community partners for a labor and AI research initiative.
